Evergood Associates take their social responsibility seriously and actively encourage all staff to participate in events, both large and small.
On Saturday 14th May Victoria Lea, Operations & Finance Officer, took part in the Snowdon Midnight Challenge 2016 and raised an amazing £1,200 for Alzheimer's Society. Although the conditions weren’t the best, they managed to complete the challenge by 4.30 am and celebrated with a well deserved glass of bubbly on the other side!
On Thursday 12th May, a team recently competed at the Isabel Hospice Golf Event at Brickendon Green and won the event! The event raised awareness in the local vicinity of the work done by the Isabel Hospice.
On Saturday 14th May, The Evergood AHP team helped sponsor Behind the Mask to take part in “Walking out of the Darkness” Event. This was a 10 mile walk from Battersea Park to Tower Bridge and back. Over 1500 attendees, including the heads of various charities, a chief editor of the Huffington Post and Norman Lamb MP.
Members of the AHP team and friends walked alongside Michelle (the Head of Behind the Mask).
The event was a big success, in both raising awareness to the cause and sponsorship.
This year, since moving to their new head office, over the weekend of 8/9th March, Evergood Associates teamed up with the National Citizen Service (a programme for 16/17yr olds) and redecorated The Zoo Café, a Hertford Youth Centre.
As Lisa Drage, CEO went onto to explain “I would particularly like to thank Rhys Bullingham for his suggestion that The Zoo café was the focus of the NCS efforts. The support we had from the young people and the Directors and staff of Evergood over the weekend was superb – it was a true team effort – young people in Hertford now have a meeting place they can be proud off”.
Local artist Emma Healy provided the creative input and engaged with the young people to decide the colour scheme and the murals.
Kate Brigden, Youth Support Worker who coordinates the project was onsite for the weekend and was delighted with the results, as she explained “not only has this project been beneficial for the Zoo, but it leaves a lasting legacy for years to come within the community. We would like to thank the NCS young people and Evergood Associates for their input to what was a hugely successful and fun weekend”
In addition all Evergood volunteers were sponsored for the event in support of Lennon Ruffles, a local child who is in need of specialist care facilities – the company matched all funds raised.
Other events have taken place over the years – Andy Rainbird, Senior Consultant, completed in the Vitality Hackney Half Marathon on Sunday 22nd June 2014 Chance to Grow in 1 hour 56 minutes and 29 seconds. Chance to grow supports orphaned, street and disadvantaged children in Kitale, Kenya through the provision of education and care.
Andy commented, “Not only is it a great way to raise money for a fantastic cause but it tests yourself physically and mentally to reach goals and targets.”
The CEO took part in the Hertfordshire Christian Aid Walk in May, tackling the 29 mile course in dreadful conditions, raising over £500 for the charity. In addition she was privileged to volunteer making and planting poppies at the Tower of London Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red poppy installation during the recent half term, an event that has seized the public consciousness and has raised a huge amount of money for the services charities.
