Evergood are in need of a Locum Consultant Haematologist to start ASAP to 1st September , Mon- Fri 09:00 – 17:00.
The Haematology team at NUH are looking for a new colleague to join their friendly and forward thinking service. This is an opportunity to join an internationally renowned service at the forefront of research and clinical innovation. This is a replacement post for a retiring long service colleague. The successful candidate should have an active interest in red cells, haemostasis and thrombosis and there is also an opportunity to work within the obstetric haematology service depending on the interests of the successful candidate.
Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest in the UK with an annual budget in excess of £940 million. It was formed on 1 April 2006, when two top-rated trusts Queen’s Medical Centre and Nottingham City Hospital merged in order to develop a range of high-quality, sustainable patient services across the two campuses. The Clinical Haematology service operates on both campuses with the specialist Haemostasis and Thrombosis service being based primarily on the Queen’s Medical Centre Campus.
Our Haemoglobinopathy service was one of the first established units outside London. We are going through a period of expansion and development and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence future direction. This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious and confident doctor keen to develop both clinical and leadership skills. It is expected that the postholder will play an active role within the East Midlands network providing opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues across the region.
The successful candidate will work with and support our Haemoglobinopathy nurse specialists and clinical psychologist. We also have a data manager who can support quality improvement, audit and research. The team works closely with the paediatric haematology service to provide a seamless service for children, adolescents and adults with red cell disorders.
This role can incorporate under graduate and post graduate teaching, educational supervision, research, leadership roles within the specialty. The appointment is to 8 DCC and 2 SPA reflecting our commitment to the personal and professional development of the post holder.
It is a requirement for successful candidates to have completed Specialist Training in the UK or equivalent and to be entered on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Haematology or be eligible to be listed within 6 months of interview
