Hertfordshire are looking for 2 x Qualified Social Workers for the Assessment Team based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead.

1/2 day systems training provided within induction to HCC
The HCC Assessment Team undertakes assessments of children and young people in line with requirements from the Children Act 1989 to establish their health and development needs. This includes speaking with key professionals who know the child and family such as schools, police, probation, health (GP, Health Visitor etc). The team aims to promote the children’s upbringing within their families and use special interview techniques to help families come up with plans that will ensure they can safely care for their children. Each QSW will be required to be on duty 1 day per week with an additional 2nd day as duty back up/support - this therefore means that condensed hours and flexible working will not be possible in this team. Assessment Teams are made up of:Social WorkersChildren PractitionersChildren's Information Advice OfficerBusiness Support Officers Average caseload of 15 (children) per QSW. Locums will receive:Regular supervisionMonthly joint & individual supervisioniPad/mobile phoneAccess to job specific training Candidates without recent, extensive Assessment experience will NOT be considered.
Specifications
- Qualified Social Worker and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- 2 years PQE
- Recent Assessment experience
- Strong Child Protection experience Experience of S47, S37, S7 assessments
- Liquid Logic system experience
- Must be a car driver with access to own transport Candidates without recent, extensive Assessment experience will NOT be considered.
